Crocodile Introduction:

The Nile crocodile is an African reptile. They are known to be the second-largest extant crocodile. A male can grow to five meters (nearly 16 feet) in length. They live in sub-Saharan Africa and are one of the most common reptiles on the continent. Their thick skin and elongated heads make them an impressive sight.

There are several species of crocodiles, but the Cuban crocodile is the most common and most popular in the United States. This reptile is found in the Zapata Swamp in southwest Cuba and the Lanier Swamp on the Isla de Juventud. Its range used to extend from the Cayman and Bahama islands but is now rare.
